Abstract Backgrounds
- Start off with a new transparent picture
- Select the gradient tool with the default colors (black foregroud/white background)
- In the toolbar up top select Mode: Difference, Opacity: 100%
- Left click and drag multiple times all over the layer
- Duplicate the layer and name it as “1”
- Filter > Distort > Wave: (use the following numbers left to right, top to bottom) 1, 10, 113, 1, 38, 100, 100
Also make sure Repeat Edge Pixels is checked - Change the Blend Mode to: Lighten
- Merge your two layers together
- Duplicate the layer again and name as 1
- Filter > Blur > Motion Blur: Angle 49, Distance 10
- Change the Blend Mode to: Lighten
- Merge your two layers together
- Duplicate the layer and name it 1
- Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal
- Change the Blend Mode to: Lighten
- Merge your layers together
- Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation > Colorize and play with the colors
