Electrifying Text
- Create a new picture around 400×400 px
- Rename the layer to “background”
- Fill the background layer with black
- Type some large text in white
- Layer > Rasterize > Type
- Rename the layer with text to “text”
- Duplicate the text layer
- Hide the duplicate text layer by clicking on the Eye icon
- Merge the original text layer with the “background” layer
- Rotate the layer 90 Degrees Clockwise
- Filter > Stylize > Wind: From Right
- Repeat the last step
- Filter > Stylize > Wind: From Left
- Repeat the last step
- Rotate the layer back 90 Degrees Counterclockwise
- Filter > Stylize > Wind: From Left
- Filter > Stylize > Wind: From Right
- Filter > Distort > Ripple: 50-100%
- Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation: tick colorize and change the color
- Make the duplicate text layer visible by clicking where the eye icon was
- Right click on the layer thumbnail and click on Select Pixels
- Right click on the layer thumbnail and select Add Transparency Mask
- Select > Modify > Contract: 2px
- Edit > Fill > Color: Black
- Deselect by hitting CTRL + D
